Magisto Launches Publicly… Tell Your Friends!

Hello friends!  We are excited to announce that today marks the public launch of Magisto!  Now anyone can use Magisto to turn their unedited video footage into short, fun movies to share with friends and family, automatically.  We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our users that participated, contributed and gave feedback during our Private Beta and to share some other exciting news with you as well.

For starters, what does our Public Launch mean for you, our users?  Starting today anyone can edit videos with Magisto.  Previously we were open to only a select group while we tweaked our program to ensure that you guys would get the best results possible when making videos with Magisto.  When we first launched our Private Beta it was open to only friends and family, and as people started talking about Magisto and we started getting tons of invitation requests we opened up the service to more and more people.

We received amazing feedback from many of our users during our Private Beta, talking to some on a daily basis to get their input on their one-click video editing experience with Magisto, and on how their videos turned out.  We asked our users what new features they’d like to see and we added these features, such as the ability to upload your own soundtrack and share your videos on YouTube.  We’ve also worked on new effects and transitions to make your videos look even better!  If you haven’t made a Magisto clip in awhile then you may notice that if you make a video today it will have a sleeker look with even more professional video effects.  Click here to try it out.

For those of you that still aren’t exactly sure what it is that we do, check out the demo video below to see Magisto in action.

We’re also excited to announce that we have just closed our second round of funding, with participation from a new investor—The Li Ka-shing Foundation.  Li Ka-shing is known for spotting trends well before they go mainstream.  In the social web arena, the Li Ka-shing Foundation invested early on in Facebook; in the music arena, they invested in Spotify; and in the financial arena, they invested in SecondMarket.  We are very proud that they have chosen to invest in us as a rising trend in the online video market.

We’ve got a lot more exciting stuff in the works, so stay tuned to our blog, and follow us on Twitter and Facebook to stay in the loop.  Also, as always, we’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback so feel free to leave us a comment below!
