You Asked, We Listened: You Can Now Make Longer Movies With Magisto

Each day we get hundreds of emails from users letting us know what they like about Magisto, as well as sharing ideas for features they’d like to see.  The most-requested feature–by a landslide–is the ability to use Magisto to create longer movies, and we’re excited to announce that, starting today, this has become a reality.

Today we’ve launched a new feature on iPhone to give users more control over the length of their movies, including a new ‘Longer Movie’ option for our premium users.

How does it work?  Starting today, when you create a movie using the most recent version of Magisto on the App Store, you’ll notice a new option when giving your movie a title–Movie Length.  When you select the ‘Movie Length’ option you can decide to create a ‘Short Teaser’, a movie that’s ‘Set For Sharing’ or, if you are a Premium user, a ‘Longer Movie!’  You can move the slider to determine how long your movie will be.  Note that the app will provide you with the approximate length of your completed movie.

With the launch of the new Movie Length feature, non-Premium free users will be able to create movies up to 1:15 (75 seconds) and Premium users, uploading ten minutes of footage or more, will be able to create movies up to 2:30 (150 seconds).

If you would like to upgrade to Premium, you can do so by pressing the ‘Upgrade now’ button on the ‘Movie Length’ page.  It is $4.99/month or $17.99/year to upgrade.  In addition to longer movies, Premium users also can save unlimited movies to their Camera Roll, as well as upload more/longer source footage.

Note that this new feature is currently available on iPhone only, but we’ll be launching it on Android as well in the near future.  The new feature currently works with all themes except for our new Roaring Twenties theme.

We’d love to hear your thoughts! Feel free to let us know what you think about this new feature in the comments below.
