This month we’re rocking out with a new theme called ‘Rock On’ and a ‘Battle of the Fans’ video contest. We’ve invited 11 Sonicbids bands to have their music included in our ‘Rock On’ theme and battle it out for the opportunity to play at SXSW. In this series of blog posts we meet the bands. Tim Chaisson hails from Prince Edward Island, Canada. He tells us, “I grew up in a big musical family and Celtic music has been always at the forefront… I started off as a fiddle player but as a songwriter some of my biggest inspirations have been Tom Petty, James Taylor and Gordie Sampson.”
According to his Facebook page, “A humble and soft-spoken musician, Chaisson began performing publically during primary school in a family Celtic ensemble before embracing his inner songwriter as a teenager and self-releasing four albums. The latest of those was Broken Hearted Beat, which had a lot of attentive ears turning eastward.”
You’ll find Tim’s song “Beat This Heart” in our ‘Rock On’ editing style. He tells us, “It’s a song I wrote with a friend of mine, Patrick Ballantyne, and features the lovely Serena Ryder on backing vocals. It’s a roots/country/rock song for your listening pleasure.”
