What’s up readers! If you are here it’s because this title got you and because you need some real-life social media marketing help. I’m sure this is not the first article with this title you have come across (and it’s not mine either). I am the Social Media Manager + Head of Community here at Magisto. I am writing this because I found those other articles missing something. Over the years I have pieced together probably 10 of those.
These are my words. This is me telling you EXACTLY what tools I use every day and how they help me do my job. I’m a little afraid of giving up my insider secrets here, but that’s just how much I love you guys.

Price: Free (limited features) I use Canva for Work – $12.95 or save 23% when you get a yearly subscription (which I recommend because you will use it every day of your LIFFFFFE).
Why I like it: BRAND. MARKETING. Easy to learn, easy to use. With Canva for Work I can create a team and from there upload my font, brand colors, logo’s etc. basically all of our brand essentials – lock them in and never have to do it again. Now, every time I go to create an asset – those are imported for me to choose from. Another plus? I can duplicate something and make a copy time and time again. So for example: Women in Tech Tuesday, a feature I do. This is now a template I use every. single. time. Work smarter, not harder people! Saves loads of time and looks professional AF.
JETPACK HASHTAG ASSISTANT
Why I like it: When my husband (who is also a social media manager BTW) recommended this app to me I really didn’t get it. So it literally just organizes your hashtags? But I already do this with my notes app? But once I started using it my inner Monica from Friends let out a tiny scream. IT’S SOOOO CLEAN! And you don’t actually have to copy and paste, and then accidentally delete the entire block (like on notes) all you do is hit the button and BAM it’s copied. I love this because I use different sets for different campaigns and it just stays so tidy. Worth the $1.99 price tag,

Why I like it: Infinite Stories lets you edit, resize and EXTEND video time within instagram. Meaning you can cut up a longer video within this app and post it as one without breaks in your instagram stories with seamless transitions. I mostly use it for this reason. With our new portrait mode sizing in Magisto – that’s a piece of cake. But for longer videos this is the easiest app out there and TOTALLY worth the price.

Why I like it: Bitly is great quick tracking tool. My favorite part of it is you can see exactly where clicks are coming from not only in region of the world etc, but in email, vrs social etc. That let’s me know when something is performing well or if I may have an unclear call to action etc. Super easy to use and also easy to go back in and look at data from a while ago too.

Why I like it: I mostly use the free desktop version and I utilize it first thing every morning with my coffee. It aggregates collections of content that you can name, edit, etc. from around the web in ONE STREAM. For example: video, marketing news, social media today etc. The content comes to you so you don’t have to find it, and have a million tabs open every morning. Great organized way to keep a pulse on what’s going on in the world.

Why I like it: As you guys can see I am pretty transparent in my language here. I came from a job where we were hiring videographers from anywhere from $500-$4,000+ per event and I’m not even joking the videos I have put together since starting at Magisto have not only garnered more traffic on social, but the amount of comments asking who my videographer was or what company I use have been off the charts. People seriously can’t believe I am putting these together myself (both professionally and personally). I use Magisto for trips with the girls, vacay with the fam, and of course for work. The free version is great, especially to test it out – but for branding I HIGHLY recommend the Business plan ESPECIALLY since our announcement deal with Getty that now offers 3+ million in video clips, and 25 million photos. Why I like it: WHOA! This is one that after using it for a few months I look back and think – HOW DID I SURVIVE WITHOUT THIS BEFORE? Because I have co-workers all over the world, this lets us communicate in a very VISUAL way. What I mean by that: video conferencing – but during you can also share your screen, do walkthroughs, presentations etc. Since I am a visual learner – this really is a breakthrough for me. Before I would communicate over g-chat and always ask for a packet or screenshot to show me what someone meant. Another thing I REALLY love about Zoom? It has a build in scheduler tool so you can schedule meetings, see up-coming meetings, and your entire schedule for the day all within once place. Bless your heart Zoom – you have this type A personality beaming with happiness!

Why I like it: Ok guys, this website looks like it’s from 1999 but I promise it’s legit. I am no mathematician but we all know as social media managers you need know follower / engagement increase, decreases month vs. year over year etc. If there is one kind of math you need in this profession it’s this. This little tool is free, fast and makes your life easier. Save it in your bookmarks and plug away as needed.

Why I like it: I’ll be honest I do not love it, and neither does the rest of the world BUT I need it on the go. In the mobile world we live in it does save my butt every now and then when I need to log in and post something. I mostly use it for mobile posting and that’s it.

Why I like it: Trendy, and switches things up from boring content. If you don’t know what this is you are serrrrrriously out of the loop. The best thing to do is just download it, play around, and figure out how to set yourself apart by being creative with it.

Why I like it: This has been a secret of mine for-ev-er. People see my photos and think I am a professional photographer. Yes you have to have an eye, but even if you don’t VSCO CAM can at least transform the lighting and textures of your photos to look like it. Their filters are the most natural from any other app I have seen and the trick is to use the same filter over and over again to create consistency in your feed. Obsessed it putting it lightly. I use it professionally and personally.

Why I like it: You can zoom in on part of an image and it blows it up without it being fuzzy or blurry. How? I HAVE NO IDEA. Screenshots won’t work my friends, they will always be blurry. Plus Skitch let’s you add shapes, text etc. Great for explanations when trying to describe something in a post or to a coworker.

Why I like it: This is something that is BRAND NEW to me, but something I have been wishing I had forevvvver. Ladies you know what I’m talking about. “You do it all for the gram” Curating a cohesive feed is a beautiful and stressful thing. People that do it well usually have a natural eye for it, but for those of us that don’t this is a great tool so you can see your grid before you post to see if it is how you want it to look etc. No huge tips for now since I’m new to it – just a heads up this tool *actually* exists and I am here for it.

Why I like it: I am a morning person. I love to put on some jazz radio with my coffee and then mainly, this gets me through that rough patch at 3:00pm. Put on some EDM / workout tunes, crank it up to eleven and finish that day strong. *insert gym arm emoji* Only bummer, for the $9.99 version which we have, I can’t listen to it as the same time as my husband. But thankfully he’s a podcaster, so I never have too much trouble.
