Founded in 2009 by Dr. Oren Boiman (CEO) and Dr. Alex Rav-Acha (CTO) and launched publicly in 2011, Magisto offers an automatic video editing solution that makes it easy for users to create and share professional looking movies, complete with effects and transitions, in a click. For years, video footage has lain dormant on memory cards and hard drives, collecting digital dust, because the prospect of video editing was too daunting a task. Magisto is designed to take the work out of video editing, helping users create movies they'll be proud to share, automatically, while they sit back and relax.
How does it work? Users upload their raw video footage via Magisto's web app or iPhone app and Magisto automatically analyzes it. State of the art computer vision technology detects and indexes people, scenes and behaviors, understanding the difference between people, pets, landscapes, toys and more. This artificial intelligence is used to edit together a video of all the most interesting parts of the footage, complete with effects, transitions and music. Magisto also stabilizes the video footage and removed excess "noise" to make user footage look as good as possible.
Once videos have been produced they can be shared in one click via Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or email.

Oren partnered with his friend, Dr. Alex Rav-Acha, with the goal of making video editing easy for everyone. Oren is a PhD expert in Computer Vision and video analysis. Prior to starting work on Magisto, Oren led teams to solve "impossible" problems in Elite R&D organizations and in Applied Materials. In 2005 he was awarded the prestigious Marr-Prize Honorable Mention for his publications.

Alex has published many academic papers on the topic of video editing and has several patents under his name. Some of them were licensed and implemented by third party companies.
